Finally……. It’s finally complete! This is Part 3 of my playthrough of the retro horror game “UTSUROMAYU".
To be honest, I started out thinking, “This is way too scary, I can’t handle it!", but by the end, instead of fear, I couldn’t stop crying.
The story of Kinu-san and Ayano-san, and Minato’s secret. The “truth of a sad love" hidden within that eerie mansion completely shattered my tear ducts…… (sob).

And what kind of conclusion awaits him at the end—?
👵 The Terrifying Monster. Its True Identity Was a Caring “Grandmother"
That terrifying monster that had been chasing us the whole time.
Its true identity was Minato’s grandmother, Ayano-obachan.
Why did she turn into a monster? Why did such a tragic incident happen?
What was written in the notes found toward the end was a record of an unpardonable sin…… But even more than that, it was a story of “deep, profound sisterly love."
Especially when thinking about Ayano-san’s feelings as she continued to look after Kinu-san for so long, I was left with an overwhelming sense of helplessness: “It’s something that shouldn’t have happened, but the two of them truly cared deeply for each other as sisters."
🕯️ Why Was There Light Shining in an Empty Mansion?
This was the most touching point of this stream for me!
The monster (Ayano-san) kept lighting the candles throughout the mansion all this time simply so that Kinu-san, who had bad legs, wouldn’t trip and fall.
That candle light, which had looked so eerie up until now, was actually Ayano-obachan’s utmost kindness to make sure Kinu-san wouldn’t fall over……
The moment I realized that, the way I looked at the mansion completely changed……!
🐓 The Bittersweet Ending and the “Chicken Incident"
The main ending leaves you with no clear answer as to which path is truly happy, making it a conclusion that sticks deeply in your heart……
A story where Ayano-obachan is kept alive, parting ways with everything to live together just the two of them.
A story where Ayano-obachan is put down (though she was already surviving), leading to the village eventually sinking beneath the water.
Each of them was Minato’s story of deciding how to live on—either as a monster or as a human.
And then, the post-clear content and mini-games brought a whole different kind of surprise! The “Chicken Ending"—I never expected to have to kick a chicken just for the sake of an ending……
I was screaming, “My heart hurtsーー!💦" while doing it, but the giant chicken that appeared right after genuinely terrified me (lol).
The Mary-san Ending was also fantastic for horror, as you could tell she was getting closer and closer with every single phone call! Well, seeing Mary-san closing in like that was also a bit surreal and funny (lol).
🪙The 10-yen Game Actually Has a “Winning" Spot!?
Still completely hooked on the 10-yen game!
I struggled hard because the coins wouldn’t go in, but I found it. The game behind the chicken coop—I have a feeling coins are way easier to land there……!✨
Next time, I want to get the “Infinite 10-yen" and play to my heart’s content♪
🎙️ Riri’s Summary Impressions 💜
It wasn’t just scary; it was a profound masterpiece depicting human karma and love. This is the ultimate Japanese horror.
Rather than just being scary, it weaves folklore into a tale that is somewhat ephemeral, terrifying yet beautiful. The more notes you read scattered around the mansion, the more you uncover the connections to past stories and legends, which was genuinely so much fun.
Story-wise, this is truly the end. Ayano-obachan, please rest in peace now…
Now that the normal ending of the main story is cleared, Riri’s challenge isn’t over yet!
Next up, I’ll be working hard to clear the “2nd Playthrough’s Special Endings"~!! I’m so excited to use the “Infinite 10-yen" and head back into that mansion once again.
