At first, I was screaming my head off — “It’s too scary, I absolutely can’t do this!! 💦" — but now that I’ve cleared it, I’m completely captivated by the depth of its story and its bittersweet beauty, even more than the fear.
Whether you ran through it together with me to the end, or you’re thinking of trying it yourself, I hope this review helps!

Maker: NAYUTA STUDIO (Switch version published by Regista)
Release year: 2023
Genre: 1980s first-person horror adventure

🌟 Synopsis
The setting is 1980s Japan.
Minato Jinba, a male university student, receives word that his grandmother is on her deathbed, and visits the mountain village of Ichinose, his mother’s hometown, for the first time in over a decade.
But waiting for him at the house he reaches is an unknown “monster" lurking in the darkness, and a terrifying truth hidden by his family…
"Trapped in a cocoon, the silkworm sees its final dream" —
What bittersweet yet beautiful ending awaits at the end of the screams and terror?
✨ What I Loved! Recommended Points
Horror that enchants with atmosphere! A beautiful yet terrifying Japanese horror
Japan’s humid atmosphere, the eerie darkness, the fear that creeps in from within the silence — it’s tremendous…!
It doesn’t just startle you; the uniquely Japanese-horror blend of “beauty and sorrow" is exquisite, and I was drawn into its world in an instant.
The Showa-era retro recreation is too perfect!
The TVs, refrigerators, furniture and other appliances that appear in the game are crafted so realistically!
It filled me with nostalgia — “Grandma and Grandpa’s house really was like this~!"
By the way, the TV commercials in the game are laced with foreshadowing that makes you go “Oh!" when you play a second time — you can feel the attention to detail ✨
The “10-Yen Game" that melts away infinite time
You can play a nostalgic “10-yen game," like the ones at old-fashioned candy shops, inside the game… and it’s so genuinely fun that I forgot the main story and played it endlessly (lol).
Unlocking the “Infinite 10-Yen," which you get as bonus content after clearing the game, is where the real battle of the 10-yen game begins 🔥
Difficulty settings that are safe for beginners and veterans alike
Even I, who am truly bad with horror, could run all the way to the end thanks to Easy Mode, which gave me plenty of recovery items!
And of course, there are proper difficulty levels for hardcore horror fans and for people who want a truly challenging chase, so no worries ♪
🤔 One Small Thing That Bothered Me
The overall volume is compact, and because the story was so interesting, I did feel a little sad — “I wanted to explore more of this world of the Miyama house and the village…!"
But considering its price as an indie title and the quality crafted into every detail, the volume is more than satisfying!
💬 Summary (Overall Review)
In one phrase: “a great masterpiece that goes beyond the frame of indie horror"!
Not only is the horror presentation perfectly polished, but the way the scattered dots connect beautifully into lines toward the finale gave me goosebumps.
It’s packed tight with “fear," “sorrow," “emotion," and occasionally “the 10-yen game (lol)."
You can play it in a short time and get a huge sense of satisfaction, so I super-recommend it as an introduction for horror game beginners!
Even after clearing it, you can enjoy it fully through collecting every ending (the second-run content) — it was the very best masterpiece ✨
