Nagasaki Travel Diary: Huis Ten Bosch After So Long! The Evangelion Attraction, Inasayama Park, and My Recommended Souvenirs – Riri Ititama / Vtuber

2026年11月5日

How did you all spend this July three-day weekend?
I took an overnight trip to Nagasaki!
From the Evangelion attraction I had always wanted to ride to all of Nagasaki’s charms, I enjoyed it to the fullest.
Well, while looking after some adorable little ones as well (lol).
Today, I’ll share my travel diary from that fun-filled trip!

🇳🇱 Day 1: Huis Ten Bosch After So Long! Into a Dream World

Huis Ten Bosch, for the first time in ages!

It had been so long since my last visit that I couldn’t even remember when it was, so just standing at the entrance had me brimming with excitement.

On this trip, the little ones had their own plans — an event connected to my parents’ company, and the pool — so we split up right after entering!

And I headed off to the area I had my eye on.

🧸 Welcomed by Soothing Teddy Bears

The first place I visited was a cute room surrounded by teddy bears.

The moment I stepped inside, I found colorful teddy bears of every kind on display, and I couldn’t help blurting out, “So cute…!"

There was even a huge bear taller than me, and just looking at them was so soothing.

📢 The Main Event! The Neon Genesis Evangelion Attraction!

Now, at last, the main purpose of this trip: the Evangelion attraction!

It’s a motion ride where your seat moves intensely in sync with the video.

Believe it or not, in this original story Huis Ten Bosch is “NERV’s Sasebo Branch," a base for defeating Angels!

We board a transport plane as temporary volunteers, on a mission to deliver a battery to Unit-02, but…

On the way, no fewer than three Angels attacked us!

The overwhelming 8K visuals were truly incredible — the scenes where attacks came flying right at me gave me goosebumps.

Honestly, I was thinking “Why doesn’t this transport plane ever crash!?" the whole time (lol). It was such an exciting experience.

Oh, and right after the ride started, there was a funny mishap: system trouble stopped it twice!

Thanks to that, I got to experience that super-cool launch sequence a luxurious three times (lol).

🍛 A Superb Lunch! Nagasaki’s Famous Turkish Rice

After all that activity, I was hungry, so for lunch I had Turkish rice, which originated in Nagasaki.

I was tempted by a Sasebo burger too, but I wanted something hearty and filling, so I chose this.

A single plate packed with delicious things — it was truly wonderful…!

🔮 A Tour of Charming Museums & Attractions

In the afternoon, I kept enjoying Huis Ten Bosch to the fullest!

  • Giyaman Museum A glittering museum of beautiful glassware from around the world. The extravagant chandelier shining from the ceiling is simply breathtaking! The displays where the glass glows mysteriously and beautifully in the dim space have a unique atmosphere that gave me a little shiver.
  • Flower Fantasia A space beautifully decorated with all kinds of dried flowers. Its dreamy world feels like wandering into an alchemist’s hidden room — and I truly love this kind of atmosphere 🌸
  • Horizon Adventure An attraction that lets you experience the story of Ran, a water spirit, set in medieval Holland. Along with intense flashes of lightning and shaking seats, a staggering 800 tons of real water surging and rolling is a sight to behold! I was sitting near the front, so I caught a bit of spray, but on a hot summer day it was the perfect way to cool down. But if you waste water, Ran gets angry and causes a flood, so everyone, please treasure your water in everyday life (lol). It seems this attraction will be ending soon, which is a real shame… I’m so glad I got to experience it before the end.
  • Count Chocolat’s Mansion Turn the faucet, and drinking chocolate comes flowing out — a wonderful mansion that feels like a childhood dream made real! I could also taste chocolates from around the world, and I couldn’t stop smiling the whole time. …Well, the two experiences together cost 1,100 yen — a slightly pricey “land of dreams" price, shall we say (lol).

🎡 Reuniting with the Little Ones on the White Ferris Wheel at Dusk

In the evening, I met back up with the little ones and we rode the big “white Ferris wheel" together.

As we rose higher, one of them said “I’m a little scared" and clutched the hem of my clothes — just too cute to handle 💖

The view of Huis Ten Bosch from the top was something special!

…Or so it should have been, but in my mind it linked to the Evangelion attraction from just earlier — “this beautiful scenery was being smashed to pieces in there…" — and I quietly laughed to myself.

🌳 Day 2: Refreshing in the Great Outdoors at Inasayama Park

On day two, we went to Inasayama Park, one of Nagasaki’s scenic spots!

Watching the little ones run energetically all over the wide park made me smile… though I no longer have the stamina to keep up with them (lol).

The Nagasaki specialty I ate here, chinchiro ice cream, was so cute!

It was scooped into the shape of a flower — not only adorable to look at, but gentle in flavor and absolutely delicious.

There was also an area nearby with monkeys and deer, and the little ones were overjoyed, which made me happiest of all.

Considering how tired everyone was, we headed home a little early.

🎁 My Recommended Nagasaki Souvenirs

Let me introduce the Evangelion collaboration goods I picked up on this trip — I’m very pleased with them!

  • Evangelion collaboration cookies & ramune soda candies: The packaging is so cool, it makes snack time fun.
  • Special clear file: The design of Unit-01 boldly placing its hand on a Nagasaki tower is full of local flavor and surreal charm — a real favorite of mine (so much that I’d love to show you a photo! lol).

And then there’s the dashi salt.

Sprinkled over rice, this stuff is seriously delicious!

It can be used in all sorts of dishes too, so I recommend it to everyone!

Well, I bought this at a roadside station, so…

It might actually be available all over the country.

🌸 My Final Impressions

It was a short, two-day trip, but it was packed full and truly the most fun.

There are still so many areas of Huis Ten Bosch I haven’t seen, so I definitely want to visit again someday.

Let’s see… next time, perhaps in autumn, during Halloween season — the whole town would turn even more stylishly spooky. Doesn’t that sound fun?

When I go on another lovely trip, I’ll share it with everyone in a diary like this.

 Bye-tama~💖
