🌟Synopsis
Goku is off on another adventure to find the Dragon Balls. Fighting in tournaments, going to space… it’s been a busy journey, and now it’s finally in its last stretch!
Right now, he is exploring the island called “Seventh Island." Can he make it out safely, through the depths of the jungle, and all the way to the top of the final stage, “Konpei Tower"?
"Today, I’ll finish it" — just as declared, the finale of this legendary, brutal game begins.
🍰 The Cake That Never Shows Up, and a Sudden Jungle!?
First, standing in my way was the “cake hunt" on Seventh Island.
Until the recovery-item cake appeared, all I could do was keep going around the island and endure.
All that ever dropped was meat…
"The cake just won’t appear!"
Half furious, I kept retrying, saving as I went (lol).
And once I finally got a cake and escaped the island, the next place was… a jungle world! …Did the original story even have a place like this!?
There were enemies with very Toriyama-looking faces, and even a “poop" enemy… the cake that one drops makes me happy, but it’s complicated…
This intense, indescribable feeling — what am I supposed to do with it!
On the way, I met Master Roshi, who was on vacation, and he told me about a key that would be useful in the cave up ahead.

…And in the end, as always, it came down to Oolong doing the “Puff-Puff."
Honestly, that lecherous old man!
🏹 The Mysterious Original Boss “Binbo" Appears!
With the key in hand, I went underground and climbed a tower with a baffling structure that somehow goes up as you descend… and suddenly, a boss battle!
His name, apparently, is “Binbo." …Binbo, as in penniless? Isn’t that name just cruel!? And seriously, who ARE you!?
At first I had no idea how to beat him, and I seriously considered looking it up. Whether you have capsules and the Power Pole on hand changes the difficulty completely.
He’s a tricky opponent who climbs vines up and down while shooting arrows at you, so the best approach is to focus on dodging while you’re on the outside, and land your attacks when he comes close.
…Well, it’s not as easy as saying it makes it sound, though lol.
Once I got the Kamehameha and the Power Pole along the way, I finally started to get somewhere. Saving and retrying over and over, I at last defeated Binbo! When the Dragon Ball was in my hands, I couldn’t help but shout.
🗼 The Final Stage “Konpei Tower" and the Robot Final Boss
And so I arrived at the final stage, “Konpei Tower"! This one is a completely original stage too, isn’t it?
I never expected to fight Krillin and the Ox-King again here. There were even weird mechas and an alien-looking enemy that throws rocket punches — quite the lineup of tough opponents!
The inside of the building was complex, and I wandered around searching for hidden rooms while the capsules kept giving me nothing but Power Poles.
Even so, I switched my strategy to “aim for the top without fighting" and “make absolutely sure to secure cake," and pushed forward little by little.
If you don’t properly stock up on items (especially cake!), you’re guaranteed to get stuck at the final boss, so this part was tough. The stock I saved up here decided how the end would go.
And then, the final boss I finally reached.
What IS that robot that looks like a certain “forerun—" *cough, cough*!!
Counting my remaining Kamehameha shots, I changed tactics and went for close combat at the end. With the health I had saved up along the way as my weapon, I beat it with a full-force push!
🐉 And Now, the Moving(?) Ending!
With the final boss defeated, it’s time for the ending! When you summon Shenron with the Dragon Balls, the wish you can make turns out to be a choice of these four.

- Make the title-screen dragon move (the dragon on the title screen moves, just like at the start)
- Continue the game (a hellish second loop starts, in your cleared state)
- I want a girl’s panties (a reuse of the Master Roshi event)
- I want a Puff-Puff (also a reuse of the Master Roshi event)
…Aren’t there any other wishes!? After all that suffering, what an anticlimax!
And when I chose “Continue the game," I was thrown into the second loop with no ending at all.
Yeah, that’s not happening lol
On top of that, in the ending Emperor Pilaf shows up and closes things out with meta comments along the lines of “the story isn’t over yet" and “I’ll leave the adventures to come to Toriyama-sensei"…

Yeah. Truly, an ending with nothing held back lol.
🎮 A Little Detour After Clearing
After clearing the game, I also tried out the next games I might play, just a little.
I took on the card-battle game “Kyoshu! Saiyajin," but without understanding what the cards meant or how the rules worked, even the fight against Yamcha with young Goku was a desperate struggle because of the star difference.
Concluding that “steady level-grinding is what matters," I switched over, and for “Famicom Jump" I wrapped up while making the thumbnail for the next stream.
It was a relaxed, lingering time — just right for the end of a long battle.
💡 Strategy Points for This Time
Cake is a lifeline, and saves are a second lifeline! Whether recovery items appear is up to luck. Since health and the timer share one gauge, save cake when it appears, and advance little by little with frequent saves.
With Binbo, the moment he comes close is your chance to attack! Against his vine-and-bow pattern, focus on dodging while you’re on the outside. The real fight starts once you have the Kamehameha and the Power Pole.
In the final stretch, “ignore" and “save up" are the right answers! The enemies in Konpei Tower are strong, so aim for the top without fighting them. But do collect items and cake, and keep your health and Kamehameha shots saved for the final boss!
💬Riri’s Impressions
And so! I finally cleared (and laid to rest) a game I once abandoned because it was just too hard!
Seriously, isn’t this a game that’s absolutely impossible to clear without mid-game saves!?
Did they actually intend for the kids of that time to play this!?
Back then, the rule was basically “one hour of games per day," you know!?
As an action game it’s put together quite well, but “energy (health)" and the “timer (time limit)" sharing a single gauge — I really have to question that design!
If you’re going to stick with that system, then at the very least, please make recovery items appear in fixed places! (I mean it.)
Looking back, it began with waiting for cake, struggled through Binbo, learned to save up in Konpei Tower, and ended with a brute-force push and meta comments. It was a long, long battle. Old games really are something else.
But I’m so relieved I got my revenge! Thank you so much to everyone who cheered me on💖
